Beauty lies in details
The Moscow State Symphony Orchestra will present Tchaikovsky’s Slavonic March in B-flat Minor Op 31, The Nutcracker Suite Op 71 and Symphony No 5 in E Minor on Feb 16, and waltz pieces by Glinka, Glazunov, Khatchaturian and Borodin on Feb 17.
The orchestra was founded in 1943. Pavel Kogan, who has been music director and chief conductor of the orchestra since 1989, has expanded the repertoires from classic symphony to modern music. He focuses on the details of the scores and presents the numbers with great passion.
